A Successful Surgery

It’s 9:30PM, and we returned home from Kaiser about an hour ago, after a successful surgery. The doctor said that the surgery went very well, and as planned, and now Rich just needs to rest up for Chemo, which starts on Wednesday. The stent appears to be working well, which is a real answer to prayer.

Rich’s spirits are really high, and aside from the pain (thank God for vicodin), he’s very chipper, and, “is ready for the next round.”

It is a huge relief to complete this initial step…we’re just praying that his body heals well from the shock of surgery; that there are no infections; and that his bloodwork next week shows his kidneys and liver to be functioning well, so he can start Chemo as planned.

Thank you so much for all of your prayers, and support. And thank you, Pastor Bob and Sandy for your prayers this morning, and Pastor Paul for visiting us in the hospital this afternoon. Your visits were true blessings to us today.

Love, Susan
