Home again!

Rich is home and DONE with his first 5-day intense chemo session.

He’s having virtually no nausea, though foods don’t taste the same to him right now, and his appetite is off…he’s super tired…We’re thankful for my mom and dad, who watched the kids most of the weekend…and I’m thankful for my husband being home!

I took the kids swimming at a neighbor’s pool (thanks, Jane and Andy!) tonight, and it was a wonderful way to end the weekend…we had lots of fun, with great company…and Jane sent us home with yummy fruit and muffins for breakfast tomorrow.

Allison is tall enough now that she can walk in the shallow end of the pool, which opens up an entirely new slate of possiblities for fun…Asher is more brave in the pool than last year, but is still a bit tentative…that’s fine with me! With his dare-devil tendencies, it’s nice when he actually shows a little fear!

This week, we are looking forward to a few days of rest…then we go to Fresno on Weds (Oncology appointment), Thursday (chemo–it’s just a shot, not an IV bag, so it should be quick), and Friday (a follow-up with the urologist who did his surgery). I’ll post again when there is something newsworthy to report! For now, we’re just resting in the fact that many, many prayers have been answered in the past 2 weeks. Thank you so much for all of them!

Happy Monday to all of you!

Love, Susan

Hey, Rich: Try to pretend your food is made by Delaware North. Then the lack of palatability won’t seem so egregious…

I will be heading on a Ron Jon pilgrimage this week, thinking of and praying for you.

Glad to hear things seemed to go well considering. Let me know if you need anything. As always you are in our prayers.
